WE’RE OUTTA HERE! (2013…)

Blues song; so what is constant with “black”, (last name);  four wheeled carriage, (first name).  Think about it.  So, what else have you been thinking about?  A great fitness plan?  A dynamite juice plan?  An incredible smoothie recipe, or several of them?  Just wait, I’ll tell you more, later.  It’ll be a secret right now.  (Don’t you love that?).

I’m assuming that everyone had a GREAT Christmas, and New Years.  I did.  I went to spend the holidays with my family, and had a great time throughout the whole time there; Las Vegas of all places!  Most of the time, I spent with my parents.  I feel very blessed and lucky, too, to have them in my life, still.  They are still full of piss and vinegar, and I LOVE that.  Lots of laughing, I still don’t know if it was at them, or with them; and it really doesn’t matter.  It was laughing, and I hope that we all did a lot of that!  Sometimes, Christmas can cause stress on some people, and that is a thing we can eliminate.  Family, that’s what we’re talking about.  I know, I know, sometimes people like to press each others buttons, (I’ve been through that), but it’s really easy to let stuff go in one ear, and go out the other.  Once you get your routine down for that, it becomes easy, (for you), and if it makes the other person, uh, “uneasy”, I guess that is out of your playing field.  Feel good, that’s what Christmas is all about.

Every Christmas Eve morning, (at 6:00 am!), my brother is associated with a non-profit group called ” Chefs for Kids”, and this is something I’ve been doing with him for about 9 to 10 years.  We go to a shelter, an abused women shelter with or without children.  We serve them breakfast, and if they take one sip of coffee, we are there, at their table asking if we can refill their cup; picking up their leftovers, frolicking with their little ones.  Santa comes in, into a room filled with toys, and each kid gets a gift, and you have to watch your eyes, that makes the watery stuff come out, it’s just a heartfelt moment, and you want to feel that every moment of the day.  There is a lot of tears, and appreciation for what was given to these lovely ladies, and children.  I wish I had a little more description to give you, but trust me, every year, I get the same response, and I look forward to this day.  That’s Christmas.

I just enjoy doing things for others during this time of year, rather than just giving gifts.  That’s fun, especially with the kids, but the action of helping someone out, that is really the X-Factor, (you know, X-Mass!).  So that’s was 2013,  so let’s bring in 2014 with a lot of hope, faith, and love, with love being at the top of our list.  I know that I’ve said this before, but put that smile on your face, when you wake up, when go to work, when you go out, or are sitting in front of the T.V., a smile can so put you in a much better mood.  Do it, do it, do it!  Say “good morning” as you go into a coffee shop, or a store.  If you want to know someone, go say hi; if they don’t want to converse, then you now know, and that wouldn’t be the person to have a conversation with, anyway!  I love to say hi to anyone I am interested in, for whatever reason.  Two weeks ago, I saw a lady, about my age, with a bald head; I went over and said, “I know you have a story, and I’m interested in hearing it.”, and we talked for about 1/2 hour.  Leukemia.  Such an interesting person, with a GREAT attitude.  That’s just a story, but the point here is, that’s Christmas for me.  Could be for you, too.  Do it, do it, do it.  Certain things, could change your life, or not, if you don’t make the effort.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday, all 365 days of it, and say “hi’ to……
