HAPPY TO BE THERE….

I love finding things that make so much sense to me, literal or common sense.  We’ve all been there, but here’s my version of how I recognize these motivational instances.  NOW.  I know, I’ve said this before, probably more than you really want to hear, but that’s why I say it. To me, it’s really important:  NOW.  It just means that you’re staying alive; every minute, every second of the day, day after day.  Think about this, what makes you happy?  “I’ll be happy when…when I get money, when I get a Rolls Royce, when I get this job”.  Let me tell you how I see it; you never get to when.  Really, you never get to when.  With all of  these “things”, is that all there is, (to all of us?).   I don’t think so, I think that the only way to find happiness is to understand that happiness is not “out there”.  It’s “inside”,  (just touch your heart; ahhh that’s the place!).  Happiness is not next week, or month, or year, no, it’s right now.  NOW.  Take a walk, see birds, see trees, cracks in the sidewalks, what grows out of the crack, see flowers, see clouds, see anything that moves, or stands still; let all of this sink in, and I guarantee you will be affected.  Whether it is a large, or small impact, that doesn’t matter, you were affected, and that means that you were “alive”.

Enough of that, it just means so much to me for you to enjoy your days; I see a lot when I’m in the hospital, volunteering.  As I’ve said before, I do this because I don’t want to forget the feeling that I’m seeing in these people who are in there, who had what I had, or worse.  My message is the same, it just depends on the person I’m talking to, and what they’re going through.  Pain, sometimes lack of hope, turning to their religion, sometimes asking for more meds for the pain; it doesn’t matter, I know their condition.  My message usually involves fitness; taking one day at a time, and going from A, to B, and then to C….on down to Z; not A-Z by tomorrow.  We all want that A-Z thing, I find that even when people work out with me.  No, no, no,uh-huh.  You spent a lot of time not doing a lot for yourself, and that’s ok, if you were happy.  I do have to tell you, though, fitness it the real Fountain of Youth.  I’m not saying that it saved me from having a brain tumor, not at all, but look at how fitness of my past affected my rehab, and put me back to work, physically.  That’s the point I’m trying to make here; NOW is better than never to be attentive to your body and soul, and nothing is better than doing something that motivates you.  Walk, run,  weights resistance, circuits, yoga, whatever, just do something that you’ll enjoy.  Trust this, also, you might not enjoy that “thing” that you just started, but give yourself a time frame.  I find that if we give ourselves a time limit of say 2-4 months, it then becomes your routine, and it might change your perception, because you WILL start to feel activated.  We might not see it in the mirror right away, but you will start to feel what’s going on inside, because it IS going on inside; you’ll feel changes going on in your body.  Commitment to yourselves says a lot about you, and trust that.  Because of this thought,  I want to throw out something that I didn’t write, but if I had a full-brain….well, maybe not!  Here it is:

Be such a man/woman, and live such a life, that if every man were such as you, and every life, a life like yours, this earth would be God’s Paradise.

There you have it, just be you.  That’s the secret, be you, give yourself praise, and involve some sort of fitness in your life.  Knowing that you’re doing something on the “good” side, for yourself, makes you appreciate yourself a little more; kind of like tapping yourself on the shoulder.  And really, what’s wrong with that?  If you want to tap on shoulders, why not start with yourself?  I’ll tell you what, it’ll will put a smile on your face, and that, my friends, is a BEAUTIFUL thing.

ENJOY…….
