COMMITTment…
COMMIT: to give in trust; to declare as having a certain opinion or position; to bind or obligate, by pledge (to commit oneself to a healthy lifestyle); to entrust (to commit one’s soul to God). How great is this word? I happen to think it is one of the greatest words that we use. First things first; in my business, it IS the greatest word. People contact me because they have “committed” themselves to try and make themselves healthier, much more functional, and to try and re-stabilize their belief in change, FOR THIS MOMENT. This is, again, a great word. We all hear the words, “I have to change”. All…

60…looking for 75!
Numbers. Great word(s). So many things are rated by numbers; everything is a number. Politics=numbers; sports=numbers; surveys=numbers…etc. Sometimes, we get distressed over THE NUMBER. How can we change that, so we can feel upbeat about a number. What would you think about the “60”? Good enough number for you? I’ll tell you all, right now, that’s a TERRIFIC number for me. Last week, I was visiting my parents, and the rest of my family, helping my folks celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary! Can you believe that? Maybe I’ll have to repeat that: 60th Wedding Anniversary! What a great time, from everyone. I think that they really appreciated a small party,…

CAN, and still do…
Isn’t CAN a lovely word? It really CAN mean the world, for a bunch of us; and it should. (definition) CAN: v; to be able; to have the ability, power, or skill: to know how to: to have the power or means to: to have the the RIGHT or qualifications to: to have the possibility to: to know: much more, but I think that might be enough. I love this word, and the message that goes with it. You can; I can; everyone can. There’s no rebuttal to this. How about the 4 veterans, who all suffered injuries, one even lost his eyesight, in November, hiking through the South Pole,…

MY DOME THANKS “HEADBLADE”
Ok, Ok, so for those that I haven’t had a conversation with about my head, and how I take care of it, it’s all about a company named HEADBLADE. Back in 2000, I met a guy in Montreal; I was up there with one of my clients, Bobby Slayton,(comedian), at a huge comedy festival named “Just for Laughs” or the French term, “Juste pour rire”. I was walking through a square, and I heard someone addressing me, “How do you shave your head?”. It was Todd Greene, developer of a shaver, for the bald guys. He told me about his new product, and since we both live in Los Angeles,…

KEEP WINE-ing…
Do you still have your favorite bottle of wine, (or rum, or whisky, whatever floats your boat) for that”special” day. Maybe even an event to which you’re holding out for. Theory wise, that sounds good. We’ve all done that, to some extent. So, does anyone have that “perfect” time, when their idea comes a- popppin’? I hope so. By my observation, though, sometime that wine has turned to vinegar; and that’s too bad. Is that what we do with our lives, also? Is it because we don’t know how we feel about our real lives? By saying that, I mean do we live each day, hoping something will “miraculously” change…

NO BAD DAYS…
Where does this saying come from? I believe from anywhere, and everywhere. As I mentioned before, “think positive”, “the glass is half full”, etc…there really isn’t any bad days. I don’t know who follows the pro teams in sports, and even though the media likes to spotlight the athletes who tarnish themselves, and their teams with negative behavior; most of them are human, and kind. (What do I mean by all of this?); let’s take LeBron James. I have an opinion on him, as all of you do; but here’s an incident that put him in the real world. LeBron and Dwyane Wade went into a hospital, to a children’s cancer…

GO UP, UP UP, the view is a little nicer…
How was everyone’s Memorial Day Weekend? Did we find a little time to give a little respect to our vets? Hope so. My Dad is a vet, and NOW, finally, is getting some gracious handshakes, and some “thank you’s” for doing what he, and so many others did. B-B-Q’s, sure, why not; it’s a day off work, but the priorities should be the thanks to an enormous group of people who dedicated their lives, for our lives. I thanked a lot of people; it was also a very relaxing few days for me, too. Saturday, took my dog running, or should I say he took ME running! Trying to pace…

VOLUNTEER YOUR PATIENT(s)…
Today was a great day for me; I should rephrase that, because everyday really is a great day, and why wouldn’t they be? We only have a small number of them; make em’ great! Today, though, was my first BIG day at UCLA. Volunteer, yes, but it really was a great day. I started visiting rooms, “shadowing”, as it is called, with another gal, showing me the ropes of what is expected of us. Lot of paper work, actually, from visiting patients, their condition, and how they feel about the services provided for them. I have to really use my perception of them, and realize, “do I stay, or should…

MAKE THIS DAY, “YOUR ” DAY…
Ok, now let’s go on with the positives in our lives. Last blog was in the aftermath in Boston, as it should have been. It was a disaster; I just wish the reporters should only report the facts, not “and we heard”. Enough of that, and we move on. I won’t go on with what “should have been”. Let’s talk about what makes sense to you today; (fitness, perhaps?). I’m not talking about tomorrow, and I don’t have enough energy to talk about yesterday, I want to know about NOW. Do you like biking, or running, or weight resistance, or dancing, or yoga, or martial arts, or…or…or…the lists goes on,…

GO BOSTON…good thoughts for you
Boston: Bostonian; Boston baked beans; Boston brown bread; Boston terrier; Boston cream pie; Boston fern; Boston ivy; Boston lettuce; Boston Massacre; Boston rocker, Boston Tea party; there’s a lot to Boston; but more importantly = HEART!!! A lot of it! I’m very sad for the family, and friends, of all involved in the senseless, brainless, idiotic act on Sunday. What is supposed to be a very celebratory event, turns into chaos. Why? We don’t know, but we all know this won’t end, until all events are found. I know a lot of friends from Boston; a lot of good people. Some with a little attitude, but they still have heart. Who…
